I'm Victoria, a botanical artist working from my home studio in beautiful Oxfordshire, where I'm often accompanied by my studio cat, Billy. My passion lies in capturing the delicate beauty of nature, with a particular focus on flowers and wildflowers, using watercolour, graphite and ink.
I have always been drawn to the natural world. Growing up in the rural Cambridgeshire countryside, I loved to spend long hours exploring and searching for wildflowers, looking up their names in my mother's wildflower book. Those happy memories have deeply influenced my work as an artist today. I take inspiration from both the beauty of nature, from my own garden and the British countryside as well as from my mother's love of flowers, gardening and her artistic spirit, which filled my early years with creativity and colour.
In my 20's I worked as a sign writer and artist on the beautiful Greek Island of Zakynthos. Some years later, in 2022, after 20 years working in education back in the UK and raising a family, I decided to return to my love of painting. I embarked on the intensive Society of Botanical Artists Diploma course, graduating with distinction in May 2024 and I am now a foundation member of the SBA.
Painting nature is an immersive peaceful practice for me, where I can find my truest sense of happiness. Each piece I create reflects my fascination with the natural world and the happiness I find in capturing its intricate details.
